The Smart Communications Inc. (SMART) through its Smart Schools Program (SSP) will conduct its Seventh Doon Po Sa Amin (DPSA) Online Community Mapping Competition this School Year (SY) 2014-2015.
The Competition aims to:
1. engage Filipinos to generate local content using community mapping techniques and information and communication technology tools;
2. promote digital literacy among participants, especially teachers and pupils/students;
3. help participants, especially the pupils, develop leadership skills, and practice teamwork, discipline, and resourcefulness;
4. encourage participants, especially the pupils, to develop the attitude of learning by doing;
5. encourage Filipinos to learn more about their communities and share their knowledge to the world using the Internet; and
6. produce the best video that will contribute to the development and promotion of local tourism.
The Competition has two contest divisions:
1. Student division – team composed of high school and college students; and
2. Open division – team composed of independent film-making enthusiasts, which include elementary pupils.
The deadline for submission of entries is on October 31, 2014.
