Greed and jealousy; we’ve all experienced those. Every human being has its own flaw. Just like how every human being has its own talent. We all know that we, as humans, are not perfect. And we’ve learned that firsthand in our life. Because of our imperfections, people tend to judge, ridicule and humiliate us for our mistakes. But there’s this one phrase.
“Nobody’s perfect.” We all know this phrase. We all understand it. But why do they still use our imperfections against us? We know we were wrong. We know we shouldn’t have done that. Why do they have to slap it directly in front of our faces?
Lucia is a normal girl. Well, if you can call a Queen Bee normal. She, as the most popular girl in school, is often called the “Jill of All Trades.” Why? The answer is because she’s pretty, smart and rich. It’s not a surprise she’s the Queen Bee.
One day, she was transferred to an even suitable school for her unbeatable intelligence. Upon arriving there, as usual, the students were swept off their feet. Instantly, she became the new Queen Bee, courtesy by the former Queen Bee’s ‘assistant.’ Now, I bet you’re thinking she’s the typical Queen Bee who pushes orders on others and bullying her classmates like they were her toy. No, she’s not like that.
In actuality, Lucia is kind and considerate to others. She is not the type of person who doesn’t care about anything as long as it didn’t affect her. She doesn’t bully others for fun and she doesn’t find illegal activities fun. Perhaps, that was what made her different to others.
So we all know that there was another Queen Bee before Lucia transferred. That girl is Georgia. She’s what you’d call, “hot.” On the exterior, Georgia is polite and helpful. But when you get to know her, you’ll find out that she’s hot-tempered and bossy, a typical Queen Bee, indeed.
So what happens when her title gets snatched? Well, disaster, of course! Georgia starts spreading false rumors about her. All of which were things that could ruin one’s reputation and pride, but Lucia stood her ground. Her followers helped clear away the rumors. They were truly loyal to her.
But Georgia doesn’t just stop there. Whenever Lucia is alone, she would splash liquid all over her, cut her cheek with a cutter, push her, etc. One day Lucia explodes, and she devises a plan. A plan that’s peaceful for the others, but unbearable to her.
The next day, Georgia thought she would finally get her title back, but when she entered, everyone just kept on staring at her. When she opened her locker, her shoes laces were torn. When she went to the bathroom, the mirror had a message scribbled by a lipstick on it. When she went back to the classroom, a bucket of water fell on her head. Everybody were laughing and snickering. She couldn’t help but cry. ‘It must have been that Lucia,’ She thought angrily. ‘Why is she doing this to me!? She didn’t fight back at first! I knew she was hiding something!’
The week passed by quickly. Georgia was still being bullied. When she confronts Lucia, she had said, “Why? You did this to someone before, didn’t you? Why is it different when it’s done to you?”
With that comment, Georgia realized her mistakes. That time when someone bumped to her, she’d yelled at the person when in actuality it was her fault. She had been in the middle of the hallway. She remembers when Lucia bumped into someone, she’d apologized sincerely. That was what kept the two of them apart. Lucia was lovable while she was unlikable with all her complaints and cruelty. Everything made sense to her now.
This story is another version of the story of Christ. Just like Him, Lucia captured the hearts of her classmates. And just like the humans, Georgia made mistakes. Except in this version, Lucia uses her power to correct Georgia and make her go back to the right road. And unlike the real story, Georgia corrected herself before Lucia had to sacrifice herself. Undoubtedly, that is what kept the two versions apart.
